Jordan Sims raced his way to an 8th place finish in the Firecracker 150, held at the Grundy County Speedway. Sims qualified 10th fastest for the July 4th ASA Latemodel series race, but started at the back of the field because the Lorz Motorsports crew made changes after qualifying. After driver introductions, the field rolled to the green flag to start the 150 lap event. Jordan worked his magic early on in the race, and was as high as 4th, 75 laps into the race. Sims car started to have handling problems in the second half of the race, caused by a problem with the rearend, but was able to hold on to a top 10 finish, finishing in the 8th spot. The race was won by Wheaton, Illinois driver, and the current point leader Eddie Hoffman. Josh Nelms was able to finish second, and Jesse Saunders in third. Next race for Jordan, is in two weeks at the historic Milwaukee Mile, where he will welcome back his primary car, the Sims Custom Countertops 2010 Chev Impala. Sims has been in the Lorz motorsports backup car, a Ford Fusion for the last 4 races.
