The best of the best, from the Challenge, North and South ASA Late Model Series series met in Memphis, TN this past weekend for the annual Invitational Kings Ransome 300. Jordan ran an awesome race, in what now has turned out to be the final race at Memphis Motorsports Park. He qualified 14th of 34 cars. The race was red flagged after each 100 laps for a 5 minute pit stop. After the first 100 laps, Sims was in 8th place, after 200 laps 7th place, and after 263 laps he was fifth when the caution flag came out. Before the caution, Jordan was gaining on the 4th place car and saving his tires for the final 20 lap run to the finish. On the caution lap, the #6 car of Dave Gentile ran into the rearend of Sims' car putting him out of the race with a broken rearend. This was a major disappointment for Sims and the Lorz Motorsports Team after the strong showing all day Saturday would have landed him a top 5 finish. In the end Jordan came out with a 20th place finish. The Lorz Motorsports Team did a great job on pit stops, making all the right adjustments to keep the #99 in the lead pack for the entire race.
