Rookie driver, Jordan Sims, finished 6th place in the tough ASA Late Model North Series Division this year. He finished 3rd in Rookie points behind Ross Kenseth, son of the 2009 Nascar Daytona 500 winner, Matt Kenseth. Sims had 2 top 5 finishes and 7 top 10 finishes this year. It was a crash filled event. 18 cars started the field - 11 finished. Rockford Speedway is a 1/4 mile high banked oval that is known as a crash and bang track, many cars coming away with heavy damage. The Rockford race is usually held as the 2nd night of the Border Wars for that reason. Jordan had a good race until the 94th lap when a tire blew and he hit the front stretch wall. He was in 8th place until a restart on the 85th lap. He had a quarter track lead on the 9th place car. Jordan managed to finish 15th on Saturday night at Berlin Speedway. What appeared to be the start of a great race - turned on the 30th lap to become a battle to survive. Jordan started in 13th position and had moved up to 8th place by the 30th lap when a caution came out.
