That's Racing!

Practice showed Jordan's 99 Sims Custom Countertop ASA Late Model was proving to be a top 10 contender for the weekend race at Mansfield Motorsports Track in Mansfield, OHIO.   Jordan was very comfortable at the track during the practice sessions on Friday.  Heavy rain and a thunderstorm rolled though the area on Saturday afternoon raining out the qualifying portion of the show.  ASA chose to have the starting grid determined by the points standing.  Unfortunately for Jordan, this being only his 2nd race of the Challenge Series, it meant that he would start in the 18th position, near the back of the field.

The green flag dropped for the API / PPG Industries All-American Classic 200 at 9 pm on Saturday, June 29th.  Jordan was driving an awesome race and made his way to the 13th position in just 32 laps before the 28 car of Jack Smith, in a solo spin ahead of him, scattered the field.  Jordan managed to avoid the accident ahead of him, but the 71 car of Blake Brown drove directly into the rear of Jordan pushing him into the car stopped ahead of him.  It was a very disappointing end to the race for Jordan as he took the worst of the accident that happened in front of the grandstand.

The Lorz Motorsports Racing Team will be going back to work over the next two weeks to restore the 99 car for the next race at Salem Speedpark in Salem, Indiana on Saturday, July 19th.
